Memory Lane

Tonight at church I had a chance to see one of my "old" Sunday School teachers. I say "old" because that was the words she used. Tonight visiting our church was Jay and Brenda Pitcher. Brenda was the teen teacher of our Sunday School class. Brenda informed me that when she saw me and all the grey in my head it made her feel really old to think one of her former students would be that grey (Thanks Brenda for point out my premature grey). I understand that she just hit the magic Birthday last week. I will let you all guess, but it is not 49. After seeing the Pitcher's it took me back down Memory Lane. I have to admit that for me I had a great teenage years. I had some great friends and some great mentors. With friend such as Mike and Michelle Hight (Krick), Paul Armour, Randy and Amy Speer, Karen Thompson (Walden)...now this was one wild and crazy group (well maybe not wild but sure crazy). We had some wonderful times. Like the time we went to St Louis, MO. I decided that no one was going to sleep in our room....I started singing. The guys decided to dunk me in the shower...it was not a pretty sight...in the end I never was dunked but the old youth leader (Harold Killinger) ended up with a broken nose (pure accident). There was the many times we went camping and all the fun we had sitting around the camp fire....running from the snakes and the frogs. We had great mentors like Harold and Annette Killinger, Jay and Brenda Pitcher, Bro and Sis Steve Hight (even they went camping with us once...boy was they brave).
As I look back I am glad that I don't have anything to be ashamed of but only happy memories. Happy memories of good times and happy memories of good friends.

Did you happen to point out to your former teacher that the gray might have something to do with the blond?

Yes Gene, those are some great memories! Remember Michelle getting gum in her hair on the St Louis trip and calling home to see if she could "cut it out!?" Hee Hee! Remember Annette's rain dance?? I remember getting dirt under my fingernails and about having a cow... Good ole days for sure! Thanks for the stroll down memory lane! I enjoyed it!

I do remember that Karen. I think Annette was more concerned about it than I was. We tried ice and it only made it worse. It was STUCK.

Gene, WHO exactly ran from snakes and frogs....??

I also vaguely remember something about a watch.

Guess I wasn't "in" on the watch episode! Don't remember it anyway! Also, don't remember much about the snakes or frogs! Of course, I was blindly "in love" (so I thought) back then! I probably missed a lot of other things due to those stars in my eyes! yuck...
